Eifel National Park & Dark Sky Park
The Eifel National Park is a true piece of untouched nature. Here, forests, streams, and lakes are allowed to develop back into a primeval forest. A special feature: The park is certified as an 'International Dark Sky Park'. Because there are hardly any artificial light sources in the region, you can see the Milky Way with the naked eye on clear nights. We recommend a guided star walk or a day trip on the Eifelsteig hiking trail.
Monschau - The Pearl of the Eifel
Just a short drive from the Lammersdorfer Hof lies Monschau, often referred to as the 'Pearl of the Eifel'. The historic old town captivates with its narrow, winding alleys and over 300 listed half-timbered houses. The absolute highlight is the historic mustard mill (Moutarderie), where mustard has been produced in traditional manual labor for over 100 years. A stroll through the old town with a stop for a Monschau Dütchen (regional pastry) is a must.
Rursee Water Sports Paradise
The Rursee is one of the largest reservoirs in Germany and a paradise for water lovers. Vennbahn Cycle Route: Cycling without borders
Lammersdorf is ideally located for trips on the Vennbahn cycle route. This former railway line has been converted into one of the longest cross-border cycle paths in Europe. Over 125 kilometers, you cycle through Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg - almost without inclines! Perfect for e-bikes, families, and leisure cyclists. Along the route, there are old train stations that now house cozy cafes.
Mystical High Fens (Hohes Venn)
Right on the Belgian border stretch the High Fens (Hautes Fagnes), one of the most fascinating raised bog landscapes in Europe. The hike across the wooden boardwalks leads through a mystical, almost Nordic-looking landscape. In autumn, when the moor grass turns rust-red, or in winter with hoarfrost, nature shows its most dramatic side here. Don't forget to bring waterproof footwear!
